GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES GOVERNING INURNMENT

Risen Christ Catholic Community Parish is the site of a Columbarium which shall be used and governed by the Risen Christ Catholic Community Columbarium Trust Agreement and by these Guidelines and Procedures.

A Columbarium Trust Committee composed of the Pastor and four volunteer members appointed by the Pastor will manage the Columbarium.

1. Eligibility

  • Niches may be purchased by and assigned to members of Risen Christ Catholic Community, their family members and dependents, and, if available, to members of other Catholic parishes and other applicants approved by the Columbarium Trust Committee.

  • Family members of those defined in previous section, or others approved by the Columbarium Trust Committee, may be inurned in the Columbarium regardless of their religion.

  • The Columbarium Trust Committee reserves the right to demand a showing of legal authority to execute the Application.

2.  Use/Cancellation/Removal/Transfer

  • The nature of the interest purchased is a license to use a niche for the inurnment of cremated human remains.

  • The interest of the purchaser may be cancelled prior to inurnment with approval of the Columbarium Trust Committee and a refund will be made, less a processing fee of twenty percent.

  • Written notice to the Columbarium Trust Committee is required before the cremains may be removed from the niche by a person authorized to do so. There shall be no refund made for use of the niche, and the Columbarium Trust Committee reserves the right to resell the niche upon removal of the cremains and niche engraving.

  • Reservations for niches are not transferable and may be used only for the purchaser or members of the purchaser’s family.

3.  Payment

  • Payment for a niche or for engraving on the commemorative plaque shall be made in full according to the schedule of costs established by the Trust Committee and in effect at the time of the application.

4.  Care

  • The Columbarium will receive perpetual care.

5.  Individual Niches

  • The Columbarium Trust Committee will assign spaces, as close to the preferred location as possible, based upon availability and priority after payment in full.

Each niche is 8 x 8 x 12. Each 8” x 8’’ x 15” niche will hold 2 urns. Urns may be purchased from Risen Christ Catholic Community.

  • Engraving on the individual niche will be provided at no additional cost, as part of the purchase price. Efforts will be made to have the engraving done prior to the time of inurnment. The ONLY information on the niche engraving will be:

  •  Name (First, MI, Last)

  •  Date of Death (Month, Day, Year)

  • All niche engravings will be of a standard size and font. No exceptions to the standards will be allowed.

  • In addition to individual niches, the Columbarium will contain a commemorative plaque for the names of deceased parish members who wish to be remembered at the Columbarium site, but whose cremains are not inurned in a Columbarium niche.

  • The plaque will contain the same information as provided for individual niches in section on engraving above.

7. Liability

  • Risen Christ Catholic Community Parish and Risen Christ Catholic Community Columbarium Trust shall not be liable for damage or destruction resulting from vandalism, terrorism or natural disaster.
