About Us

About Risen Christ

We are a community of open, flexible leaders who welcome and engage our parishioners and friends.

Since our establishment in 1992 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise, Risen Christ Catholic Community has been a vibrant Catholic community in SW Boise and Kuna. We started small, gathering in the Lake Hazel Elementary gym, and by 1994, we celebrated moving into our own Social Hall. In 2003, we broke ground on our current parish building, designed in three phases. Phase 1, Raising Sacred Space, is complete, and we're excited to soon launch our campaign for Phase 2Rooted in Christ; Rising Together, which will provide even more space for our ever-growing community.

Our journey as a parish is guided by strategic anchors that shape who we are and how we welcome you:

  • Helping people set roots at Risen Christ Catholic Community: we strive to help our parish family set roots in our community, and grow together, in our journey and our love of Christ
  • Radical hospitality: we actively seek out, notice, and engage with newcomers and existing members alike
  • Engaging, life-giving leaders: our parish leaders inspire, uplift, and empower community members to live out their faith with joy and purpose
  • Remaining a unified Catholic community in Christ: We are dedicated to strengthening our bonds as one body in Christ, rooted in Catholic tradition, and living out our shared faith
