Becoming Catholic (OCIA) is the Church’s process for adults and older children who wish to join the Roman Catholic Church. It’s open to those who are unbaptized or baptized in another Christian tradition.
Unbaptized participants prepare for Baptism and full initiation, usually at the Easter Vigil. Those already baptized with a trinitarian formula explore full communion with the Catholic Church.
Through prayer, reflection, and learning, participants grow in faith and understanding of Catholic beliefs, worship, and life. The process is ongoing and flexible, starting when you're ready and unfolding at your own pace.
A similar, age-appropriate process (OCIC) is offered for children over age 7.
If you want to learn more about this process, contact the parish office, 208-362-6584 ext 107 or email Sharleen Thurston at SThurston@RisenChristBoise.org .
If you wish to get started, you can complete this Registration Form, and someone will respond to you.
