The Health Ministry serves the parish as well as individual parishioners. It's focus is on the care of a persons body, mind and spirit. It educates parishioners about health issues and provides health screening, basic assessment and information on community health resources.
The health ministry at Risen Christ consists of any health professional interested in the wellbeing of the parishioners of the parish.
The Risen Christ Parish Nurses are affiliated with the Faith Community Nursing program at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Faith Community Nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that focuses on the care of the spirit and the promotion of holistic health within the context of a faith community. Holistic health care consists of the health of body, mind and spirit. These nurses promote holistic health and the prevention or management of illness. They use interventions of education, counseling, prayer, presence, active listening, advocacy and referral.
The health ministry team at Risen Christ Catholic Community will engage in the following activities:
- Visits to parishioners
- Health information in the bulletin
- Provide health education classes
- Offer health resource information
